Lost my retainer?

okay, my mom gets REALLYREALLY mad when i lose my retainer. she really starts yelling so much; and never ever believes in so called 'accidents.' she keeps telling me constantly that if i HAD cared about my retainers, i would still have them. i guess that's true, but i really /do/ care. i started to cry and have a fit when i seriously could not find them; i looked in every room of the house so many times and through the school's trash and in some really disgusting places.. this is like the third time i've lost it and she's really gonna blow her top. they cost about $250 to replace and i have to admit we are kinda low on money to be able to afford that! even though i do have a little money to buy it she's gonna be so mad.. my mom's a person who will easily lose her temper over things like this. this is why my life is so stressful. i really could use some help please!??!
Answer:
Depending on how old u are, maybe you can help to pay for them. It is the 3rd time so try to help out this time. Maybe a part time job or suggest to ur mom you work it off by doing chores? Or if u get an allowance, give 1/2 of it back to mom until u pay it off. Or call the office and ask if they do monthly payments. Maybe you can pay them instead. I'm sure she doesn't mean to lose her temper, she's just worried you'll keep losing it and it'll get really expensive. Just ask to help out then she'll feel like ur taking some responsibility in paying for it.
Then when you get it, why not place ur retainers in a cup of water w/some antibaterial solution, when not in use. I lost my first ones when I was younger. Then I placed a cup right by the sink. Every time I eat, I'd run in the bathroom and drop it in the cup. Or keep the retaiiner container w/you whenever u go anywhere. So if you eat or take it out, you put it in the container. If you only wear it at night, then place a cup by ur bed and wash it out daily. Good luck! =)
if you have a sibling, you have a scapegoat. if not, LOOK REALLY HARD!
OK..this is ugly. Moms have a way of becoming upset and going a little crazy.this is your 3rd time...so what's really up with these retainers going missing?? If you really don't want to wear them, don't have you mother spend money again. Just tell her your sorry and not to bother replacing them. However, if you really want nice teeth and REALLY are going to be responsible!.. your going to have to do a little sucking up. Go to your mom, and this is what you are going to say:
Mom, it was not my intent to lose my retainers again..and I'm really sorry. You don't need to get me new ones if you think I'm going to lose them again, but if you do.
I am committing to wearing then and not losing them, so how can I help you pay for them. If not in $$ offer your help around the house, do something to make her world a great place. She'll believe she has a wonderful child.
suussiiie my faggooot(:
