My bf is in alot of pain b/c his wisdom teeth are growing in. What can help his pain til he gets them out?

Answer:
800 mg ibuprophen %26 anbesol on the gums. Also try not to irritate the mouth area with food(eat soft food) %26 with his tongue.
Has he been to the dentist yet? If not, have him schedule an appointment so he can get some Lortabs. In the meantime, take some OTC pain meds such as Aleve or Advil.
Believe it or not I've heard that swishing milk around in your mouth really helps not sure why
Maybe some over the counter numbing medicine. Such as Orajel, Anbesol, etc. They won't cut out the pain completely, but should help some. Other than that, I really don't know. Nothing seems to help my toothe aches.
He needs to go to the dentist if that's out of the question he should use oral gel and pain killers
Swish with bourbon. It's like a heating pad.
Ibuprofen will usually help more than acetaminophen because ibuprofen can help with inflammation. A topical anesthetic such as Abesol might be helpful too. It's also couldn't hurt to call and ask his dentist for suggestions. Good luck.
I think he should eat lots of cold things like ice cream and popsicles. That's what I did. But there is an herbal remedy (kinda like orajel--except it works better but tastes worse.) It's called clove oil and it's not really that expensive. You can find it at a natural foods store. And don't worry, ya get used to the taste. It helps any toothache, really, just dab it directly on the spot that aches...and don't kiss anybody for about 15-20 minutes! lol! My friend had an infected, broken tooth and said she used it and it worked SO well. Don't forget advil, too!
this is the problem which makes a man go mad till cured .
you can help him out of sure . first of all dont let him use brushes , dont let him have hard eatables like pizza crust , buiscuits etc and dont let him chew on his wisdom tooth side . these were general solns.now some good solns
use menthol syrup%26lt;recommended%26gt; or clove syrup %26lt;not oil%26gt;to wash the teeth or use any toothpaste with menthol , then go to dentist for a medicine which makes you feel comfortable %26lt;not painkillers%26gt;. take a freshness gum gel and let it be placed there for 5 mins . and moreover dont eat sugar and oil it makes teeth go worse .dont forget to give him medicines given above if they are not painkillers .
all the answers are really good. you can also try rubbing pure vanilla on it. i have heard that it works really well. a dentist here told me about it with my kids and it helped them
Wisdom teeth usually cause everyone problems. Lots of times there just isn't enough room left in your jaw for them so they are what they call impacted. They are very painful, some over the counter pain pills help but I remember mine hurt so bad, not much of anything helped a whole lot. Getting them out was a piece of cake compared to the way they hurt while I still had them. Tell him hang in there and get them out as soon as possible because they don't get better. I went in and got put to sleep and had all 4 taken out at once. No big deal, they sent a few pain pills home, but there was no pain compared to before they took them out.
Cold foods do help to anesthetize the gums. (A convenient excuse for the ice cream junkie.) Also, avoiding the crunchier foods is a good idea. One big help is Chloraseptic, the %26quot;sore throat spray%26quot;. It does the same as Ambesol, but it lasts for quite a bit of time. DO NOT SWALLOW IT!! Spray on the affected area, then spit it out. It is actually on the label that it can be used for oral issues, not a lot of people know that. You can and will build up a tolerance to the OTC meds such as Advil and Tylenol; so I wouldn't rely on those for relief.
